BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes has unveiled a new initiative aimed at supporting Bitcoin’s growth. Maelstrom, Hayes’s early-stage investment fund, seeks to assist Bitcoin developers by offering grants ranging from $50,000 to $150,000. 

Arthur Hayes mentioned the “Maelstrom Bitcoin Developer Program” in a post on X, emphasizing strengthening Bitcoin’s censorship resistance, scalability, resilience, and privacy characteristics to promote the cryptocurrency’s technological development.

The Maelstrom fund provides key details about its Bitcoin Developer Grant Program, issuing 12-month grants with monthly payments in BTC, USDC, or USDT, ranging from $50,000 to $150,000 per developer. Consequently, the grants will be awarded in Q3 and Q4 of 2024, with applications accepted until August 25. These grants aim to enhance Bitcoin’s scalability, resilience, and privacy, highlighting Maelstrom’s commitment to fostering innovation within the Bitcoin ecosystem.
